A very good trip

       We had a great time! We met lots of kind people here, in Spangenberg, which is a small town. We worked in different groups and these groups had different tasks and visited different places. One of the groups visited the Edeka, the other the B.Braun. On Friday we had a bowling party, after that we went to dance ♥.  Finally, on Saturday we had a family day.
        This trip was very very veyr very good. We made lots of friends, we would like to keep in touch, and we hope.....one day.....we...will meet again. We would like to have a student exchange programme, we would be happy if we had exchange students in Budapest.

Our visit to B-Braun

On Thursday 22th May 2014, our group visited the B-Braun factory. It was very interesting because we didn't know that this factory produced those kinds of products, that are used in hospitals. It was founded in 1839 by Mr Braun who bought a chemist of Melsungen and decided to produce fluid bottles for ill people who could not eat solid and needed to have intravenose therapy. The name comes from the son, Berhart Braun. 50% of the  working staff are  inhabitants from Melsungen. The firm gets 2000 applications every year from people who want to work here, foreign languages, English and German, maths are needed, then they have to pass a test and a personal interview. Most men get jobs in the technician centre and women between get jobs as commercials. Some of the skills they ask people are: knowledge about clinical nutrition, therapies, diseases, body composition and English. Creativity is also very important , having good ideas and knowing how to sell products are good qualities as well.

Mrs Anke Tessin, the mother of one student in Burgsitzschule, explained all about the philosophy and the production in this medical firm. Her presentation was great.

These are the types of bottles produced from the beginning up to the present day, 650,000 bottles are produced everyday and 1 million litres of water are needed. 

There are people from 48 countries around the world who work here. We met a Taiwan worker who had studied pharmaco-economics and an Indian worker who had been working there for four years. The firm has also a lot os subsidiary places in 133countries around the world, such as Singapour, Hong Kong, Brasil and mexico City.Some key words that are considered important for the firm are tradition, future and sharing expertise.

Our visit to Holzbaukühlborn.

Today we visited Holzbaukühlborn. The founder of the factory was the granfather of Klaus Kühlborn. Mrs Hey led us by the company. She told us a lot about the company and the things they produce. They need two weeks to build a whole family house and one day to put the walls together at the particular place. At Holzbau Kühlborn work 60 people and 20 people work at one time. The working hours of employees are 5:00 to 13:30 o'clock in the morning and from 13:30 to 22:00 in the evening. The working hours of the office - people are from 7:00 to 16:30 o'clock. The company Holzbau Kühlborn build 50-60 buildings per year and they have built more than 1000 buildings today. All the wooden thing they need are from this region.

The Hungarian team in Spangenberg

On the first three days we saw the German school´s life. The school is very friendly and quite big. The canteen is also very big, like the school, the food is delicious. We got to know the village and people who live there. We would like to live here, and we are happy to be here! Petra, Fanni, Bence

Slovak team in Germany

Greatings from the Slovak team in Melsungen. We are very happy to be here. We  worked together in mixed international groups on old jobs on Tuesday and on new jobs on Thursday. We visited the smith, baker, farmer and builder, learnt about jobs that do not exist any longer. We try to make things the old fashioned way to see, how hard the work was without modern technologies. We got the chance to see how these jobs are done now and compare it.

We talked about what could be improved in our school so we are better prepared for our future.

We have met lots of new friedns and very nice people. We have enjoyed staying with host families, learning about their life and habbits. We had lots of fun and we have learnt a lot about jobs, cultures of other countries and ourselves as well. THANK  YOU!!!

Our visit to the Burgsitzmuseum.

Monday 20th May. We went  to visit the Old jobs museum, Burgsitzmuseum in Spangenberg to know about old jobs, such as blacksmith, weaver, shoemaker and cabinet maker. they are all old jobs now.

There were some people restoring the important building called Burgsitz, situated in the square, an old building owned by noblemen in the past.

How did we feel here?

We are very good here. We are feeling very well,our host families are very nice. We are doing a lot of interesting things in the school , but it's a little bit different from our Jacint Verdaguer school in Sant Sadurni d´Anoia. We went to Kletter Park, and we had  funny moments with all the Comenius students and teachers from here,and from other countries as well. After we went to Kassel to visit the Fountain of Hercules, all visitors went down the stairs and later we went shopping in the centre. There is a good athmosphere!

Finnish Team in Melsungen

Hallo, Grüsse aus Deutschland! On Thursday we visited B.Braun, a family owned pharmaceutical company. It was founded in 1839 in Melsungen. Mrs Tessin gave us a tour. We learned about their and their training programme. They have 6300 employees, which is 50% of the population of Melsungen. In the Marketing Department we met lady from Taiwan and a gentleman who is from India. Today we worked in groups discussing what we had learned. We made presentations about old and new jobs. Our last Spanish-Catalan Comenius Team

We are very excited about travelling to Spangenberg on the 18th May to work with Comenius students and teachers. We are Laia Suils, Laia Albiol, Marta Estruch, Anna Jiménez, Berta Guimerà, Ariadna Lázaro and Marta Mata. We hope to see you very soon. Our teachers Ma Dolors Virgili and Helena Garcia are very happy to travel as well. Txema Arenas is also going to travel to Spangenberg to finish and share the Comenius project experience, but he will get there on Friday. Best wishes to you all.

A local business doing well.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a fairly new business that has established itself as a being one of the most exciting and popular attractions across Yorkshire. Thousands of people go every week and the park is expanding continually to become even better and more impressive.
A few years ago there was a small selection of animals with lots of empty fields, but now it is filled with animals from across the world, with even more to come as well. Due to this success much more jobs are being opened up which obviously helps the whole of Doncaster.

App ideas

We hope that you are all well, we have been busy putting together some of our work linked to the project, for example linked to the work on the role of women we have interviewed the President of our local women's football team who gave the children a great insight into how successful they are and the huge tradition that they have helped to create. The video can be seen in the twinspace.

Alongside that we have found out about how the role of women changed due to World War 1 and the suffragettes.The powerpoint that we created can be seen in the twinspace as well.

Finally, as we are looking to the future we have uploaded to the 'Jobs in the future' section of the twinspace our videos that explain our app suggestions.
